The first Laser class focus day scheduled for the 14th march 2010 appears to clash with Mothers day, to enable a good fleet for the first Laser class focus day we are changing this date to the following sunday the 21st march.
In addition to the usual format of racing and get together afterwards, we are also launching the 'ACTIVATE YOUR LASER' campaign on this day. This is being driven by the RYA as part of their efforts running up to and after the olympics to get more people out sailing. The day will include a rigging clinic, a brand new demo boat (subject to availability) with all the latest fittings to check out and test sail should you want to check out new kit first. Special offer bundles and a discount on most laser spares will be available to order on the day (payment by cheque on the day will be required for anyone ordering any parts).
For those who are just thinking about getting back on the water this is also a great opportunity to come down and meet the rest of the fleet and check your boat out. We will have a check sheet and loads of info available so you can make a list of any items that you might need to attend to in order to get yourself back on the water this season.
Other 'ACTIVATE' events that are available throughout the season are :-
Boat maintenance - There is a small charge for this event which is held at the laser factory in Northamptonshire, and dates are available throughout the year.
Training events - None planned as yet but RYA coaches are available throughout the year to come to Rutland (subject to availability) and run training sessions at all levels form basic Laser boat handling sessions for those that would like to hone up their general sailing to advanced racing, boat speed etc.
