Strong breezes and big waves dominated the action at Rutland Sailing Club this weekend. With Olympic classes here for their Indicator trials, and some of the best Musto Skiff sailors joining them for their training weekend, there was plenty of top sailing action to be seen.

Good News for Tuesdays & Wednesdays at Purple Rutland

As of Tuesday 20th march 2007 Purple Rutland will be open for business 7 days a week until the end of summer. The shop will now be open from 10am on Tuesdays & Wednesdays until 5pm both days.  Opening hours are displayed at http://rutlandsc.co.uk/chandlery. We will open longer hours on Thursday and Friday when the Thursday night race series starts. If people require us at the later times before the racing starts then please call before hand.

A missing mark adds excitement to the racing

A missing mark added some excitement to the racing at Rutland SC this weekend. As the fast moving catamarans and the asymmetric fleet planed at top speed down the lake it became a game of dare as the wind grew stronger, the dam grew bigger, and still the mark did not appear.

The windy weather continues

The windy winter series continued out on the water this weekend. It was a day of youth with 40 of the country's best female youth sailors out on the water in their International Optimists as part of the national training programme.
