It is with great sadness we have to inform you that Roy Parker, skipper of Formula One, 'Fracas', lost his fight against cancer this week and died in the Leicester Royal Infirmary on Tuesday 16th February 2010.
As well as enjoying sailing Roy was known as the 'music man'. He entertained us on many occasions with his keyboard and singing. He was also a keen motorhome enthusiast and he and Jean were always pleased to welcome friends into the camping field opposite the Club for a cup of tea and a look at his latest acquisition. These are the memories we will continue to share of Roy and his love of Rutland Sailing Club.
To Jean and family we send our sincere condolences and look forward to seeing her amongst us in the coming season.
A service of thanksgiving for Roy's life will be held on Monday 1st March at All Saints Church, Moat Street, Wigston, Leicester. LE18 2LA at 11.15am. Refreshments after the service will be available at the British Legion Club in Wigston next door but one to the clurch. Parking is available at The British Legion Club. Everyone is welcome. Donations, if desired to 'LOROS' or 'CANCER RESEARCH UK' c/o A. J. Adkinson & Son, 12 London Road, Oadby, Leicester. LE2 5DG

Team Racing is a head to head race between two equally matched teams over a short course. It is usually a fairly intense battle of boat handling, speed and tactical encounters. The options presented not only include going fast, but rather amusingly, trying to 'stitch up' one of the opposition boats to allow your team mates to go sailing through: the latter is often a good deal easier to do than overtaking!.. |

It is with great sadness that we have to pass on the news that Paul Bancroft passed away on 28 December 2009. Paul became ill in November, was diagnosed with cancer in December and died peacefully at home with his family on 28 December. Paul will be greatly missed by everyone at RSC and especially by members of the Cruiser Fleet and Formula 1 fraternity. Paul willingly gave so much of his time to the club having been on Sailing Committee in recent years and he also served on Council and as a Flag Officer during the 24 years he was a member of the club. Our thoughts are with Mary and the family at this difficult time.
Messages of condolence to Mary and family at 78 South Road, Oundle, Peterborough, PE8 4BP. There will be a memorial service on Friday 15 January 2010, 2pm at St Peters in Oundle, Mary has asked that flowers only be sent by the family. There will be collection for Cancer Research and the RNLI.

Check out our new updated website. You can now purchase goods from the shop online. Check out www.the-chandlery.com to find out what we have. Please bear with us as the site went live on Monday and we are still in the process of adding more parts to it. Also the weather station is not in use yet as we are updating that as well,
Happy shopping, Andy
