Congratulations to Richard Stenhouse and Tom Wright who came 1st and 3rd respectively at the Musto Skiff Inland Championships held at Grafham Water this weekend.
Tom who still qualifies as a youth is having a tremendous year on the adult circuit putting in some fantastic results, including a race win during the event.
Richard takes the inland title from his wife Kit who won it last year.
The club was also represented by Nick and Matt Hollis, (Nick notching up a second in one of the races),Kit Stenhouse and Tim Chapman who all put in good performances in the tricky conditions.
Please be aware that the bar and catering will no longer be open on Friday evenings. We would like to thank everybody who has supported this initiative through the season and we hope to repeat it again through next season.
Please be aware the the clubhouse and grounds will be locked at 5pm on Friday evenings from now on.
Every Sunday throughout the year and Friday evenings when the light is still around, there is a bundle of enthusiasm and energy on the front lawn as the youngsters take part in Junior training. It is a mixture of fun and, well, more fun, but at the same time they are picking up important sailing skills too. This is borne out as 4 of our top sailors have been selected to join the Topper Zone Squad. This is Georgina's report:-
Rutland SC sailor Steve Tylecote has been selected to represent the Great Britain in the ISAF Team Racing World Sailing Championships to be held in Australia in February 2009.
